I’m currently working at ICON as a CRA II in the ICON Commercialisation and Outcomes (ICO) department. I joined the industry back in 2007 after graduating in Pharmacy and Biochemistry with a PhD in Management. I worked for six years before joining ICON in 2013. I knew many people already employed by ICON and they were a big factor in my decision to join – they were all highly satisfied with the culture of work here. It was also one of the few CROs that has showed positive growth during a time of recession, so I was delighted to come on board.
Even though I’m primarily home-based, I enjoy the working environment at ICON – when I’m in the office, I can tell that everybody gets on well and I receive a large amount of proactive support from my colleagues, even though I’ve not met most of them. Being home-based is great for me as I save time on travelling to and from work, leaving me with flexible working hours. However, there are many times when I’m required to travel as a CRA II– particularly across Latin America – and it’s definitely something I enjoy. Working with talented people from all over the world is a great experience and something I’d recommend to anyone.
Since joining ICON, the clinical research training I’ve received has been first-rate and contributed to me gaining enough experience to be promoted from CRA I to CRA II. I’d welcome anyone hard-working, caring and thoughtful to join ICON!
