  • Providing moderate to Complex database support for 250+ Microsoft SQL servers.
  • Perform SQL Server Installation, Upgrades, Migrations and Configuration.
  • ·         Install database software service packs and cumulative updates as necessary
  • ·         Monitor performance of database systems resources and query throughput
  • ·         Optimize SQL Code as necessary (Stored Procedures, Functions, Index)
  • ·         Monitor and maintain database storage resources
  • ·         Maintain database documentation as required
  • ·         Maintain and administer database security access
  • ·         Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity issues
  • ·         Follow Change Management processes to implement database configuration changes
  • ·         Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues
  • ·         Proactively monitor and respond to MSSQL database Alerts.
  • ·         Provide clarification for internal database servers Audits.
  • ·         Need to work with vendor to implement performance recommendations.
  • ·         Configuring and Maintaining High Availability [Clustering, Always ON, Mirroring] for many Critical servers.
  • Monitor and optimize the complex performance and security of the RDBMS servers and other servers as required.
  • Perform complex setups, installations, updates and maintenance of all IT RDBMS servers in accordance with ICON SOPs.
  • Perform complex level troubleshooting of issues and problems generated by IT systems and as requested.
  • Provide assistance to the programming team as needed for tasks including performance tuning and data uploads from basic to moderate level of complex tasks.
  • Provide assistance to the application support team in performing study installations, configurations and reviews; uploads of client data into the system; setup of new users; setup and configuration of system as needed; in addition to various other maintenance tasks as assigned at moderate to complex level while minimizing the number of errors as needed.
  • Perform basic to moderate level of complex system migration and cross platform database communication.
  • Ensure the backup site for IT RDBMS servers are ready to be brought online in the event of a site failure in the primary IT RDBMS server sites of moderately complex task.
  • Provide assistance to the IT team for backing up and restoring all data from IT RDBMS servers.
  • Perform BI Tasks: Create and deploy moderately complex SSRS Reports and SSIS packages.
  • Perform basic reviews for all levels of DBA Tasks.
  • Ability to determine and make improvements in current processes and applications.
  • Required to be on call to support after hours to resolve SQL issues as they arise.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time with no supervision.
  • Ability to mentor team members on DBA basic to moderately complex projects and tasks.
  • Supports the organization, management and vision of the practice. Supports the multiple tasks involved in a project or assignment and prioritizes their completion.
  • Ability to automate existing process using shell scripting .
  • Hands on experience on Oracle , MYSQL , Mongo databases will be added advantage .
  • Ability to work on Linux operating systems will be added advantage.
