Director / Principal Epidemiology

ICON's Late phase, Commercialisation and Outcomes division is a market leader providing a range of services to the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device markets spanning Health Economics (HE), Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO), Epidemiology, Pricing & Market Access and Translations and Linguistic Validation, Medical Communications and Real World Evidence.

We are looking for an experienced Principal / Director of Epidemiology to join our group in either our Abingdon, Oxfordshire or London office.

Overview of the role

• Strong background in observational research and projects across the drug development life-cycle, which may include: observational studies (e.g. retrospective chart reviews or surveys, administrative       database analysis, prospective cohort studies, registries), systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses and network meta-analyses, infectious disease modeling, risk-benefit analysis, and preparation of value   dossiers for health technology assessment. 
• Provide strategic and methodological advice for the collection of primary or secondary observational data
• Partner with clients to guide their needs for the collection of observational data
• Provide methodological oversight/mentorship for junior staff within the practice (e.g. study design, analytic strategy)
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to enhance repeat business
• Conduct business development activities, including capabilities presentation and thought leadership activities
• Recognise and lead opportunities for process improvement within the practice

Role Requirements  

A Master’s degree or PhD in health economics, epidemiology, or another related discipline.  

Experience of working in consultancy, industry and academia, preference will be given to those having consulting experience.
