Financial Analyst I

Location: Dublin

The Financial Business Planning group is the departmental financial analysis function of ICON. The department role is to provide independent, objective financial and consulting services designed to add value, direction and leadership to assist the business in attaining success.

The Financial Business Planning group plays an integral part in enabling ICON to accomplish its objectives by bringing a global, systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating finances and strategy.

Job functions

·    Develop, build and prepare external client financial reports related to study and portfolio Sponsor

      requests. Requests may entail significant excel-based data compilation and financial analysis.

·    Recommend actions for optimizing report performance and understanding financial trends.

·    Assist in developing and preparing monthly reporting package for study team, including timelines,

       hours/units vs. budget, burn rates, trend analysis, forecasting, resource management, and invoicing.

• Individual contributor who will be responsible for their own work within their functional area.
• Must communicate and contribute to his/her customer (whether manager or project lead). *
• Must have the ability to cleans and/or analyze data. *
• Must be a strong team player and contributor.
•  Perform other reasonably related duties, analysis and special projects as assigned by management team.

Knowledge requirements

·        EU/APAC: Prior relevant experience in financial analysis or financial planning and analysis.

·        Demonstrate ability to interpret data (analytical skills) and convert between formats.

·        Numerate with some financial understanding.

·        Excellent working knowledge of MS office package, in particular Excel.

·        Excellent communication (written and oral), organizational, and influencing skills.

·        Desire to continue their financial education (CFA, MBA, CPA, CMA or other relevant financial education).

·        EU/APAC: Some prior experience in financial analysis or financial analysis and planning preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree, or local equivalent, in related field or equivalent experience.
