Are you a Medical Technologist with extensive experience preparing tissue slides for microscopic evaluation using specialized techniques?  If so, learn more about how you can join the team within the Pathology Laboratory at ICON Central Laboratories which is dedicated exclusively to central laboratory testing and the associate services for clinical trials.    
 
About the Medical Technologist role within ICON: 
 
The Medical Technologist will be responsible for the processing of sample biopsy tissue in the pathology laboratory which includes - processing of biopsy tissues, paraffin blocks, cutting slides and staining samples for pathology review, processing Special Stain samples, maintaining pathology records, assisting with maintaining quality control and performing proficiency testing.
 
If needed, the Medical Technologist may assist with Immnohistochemistry (IHC) and In situ Hybridization (ISH) staining, validations and troubleshooting, setting up protocols and running validations for IHC and ISH, and providing SOP’s  and training staff on IHC and ISH.

To succeed you will need:
 
You will need a Bachelors’ degree in Medical Technology or Science related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Histology and Anatomic Pathology.  ASCP Certification and knowledge of Microsoft applications is preferred.  Will need to have the ability to lift 5-10 lbs.
 
NYS Technologist License required.
 
Experience in IHC and ISH is a plus.
