Product Delivery Manager

Based in Limerick

The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordinated planning, management and execution of all activities and resources (personnel, financial and IT) necessary to ensure successful delivery of a portfolio of simultaneous inter-related products. Delivery management activities revolve around managing issues and risks at the intersection of multiple product-related activities. These roles are tasked with determining how the organization handles and "manages the management" of product delivery. While this includes product launch methodology and practice standards, it expands to include product feasibility, delivery, piloting and as well as realizing and measuring the Return on Investment that the product bring to the entire organization.


Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Product Feasibility Study, delivery and execution of products portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business goals, by tracking key product development milestones and recommending/implementing adjustments/solutions when required.
  • Determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, deliverables, roadmap, staffing requirements and allotment of resources for a portfolio of products.
  • Responsible for the launch of the end product ensuring all operational elements are fully tested, piloted and ready for product launch.
  • Lead the technical input into RFI/RFP responses and represent ICON in Business Development activities (e.g. Bid Defense meetings, IT Strategic Reviews) as required.
  • Ensure that the product delivers the planned benefits and that these are fully realized in partnership with the business and / or clients where applicable.  Seek additional areas of benefit providing value added opportunities, where possible; by continuously making graded improvements or refinements throughout the product Live cycle.
  • Develop a highly focused and motivated product delivery teams through the establishment of appropriate goals and objectives.
  • Define and manage the inter-dependencies between products. Identify and resolve inter-product conflicts and resource over-demands.
  • In collaboration with subject matter Experts and product development team, establish and maintain regular communication with teams, set development objectives (where applicable) and give performance feedback in order to create a high performance culture
  • Participate in the Vendor evaluation, selection and contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring compliance with ICON’s PLC SOP’s and WIP’s.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging trends, and best practices, both in innovation and the CRO industry.
  • Travel (approximately 40%) domestic and/or international
Supervision:
  • Provide leadership and direction to a group of specialist Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Software resources to ensure initiatives undertaken are delivered achieving the desired benefits, to agreed timescales, cost and quality, and communicate progress on such initiatives to the Firecrest Management team
  • Lead a global matrix of customers, Business Partners, Software and Design Leads who are responsible defining and delivering the products.

Experience / Knowledge Requirements:

  • Extensive experience managing diverse team of individuals to deliver products, leveraging both IT / Software solutions and business process improvements, to aggressive deadlines, quality and cost targets.
  • Three to five years of demonstrated management/supervisory experience in Product delivery, during which more than one of the following occurred:
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership, with strong abilities in relationship management.
  • Successfully developed and implemented new technology.
  • Demonstrated competency in project management and the execution of multiple or large projects.
  • Successfully developed and implemented new work processes or process improvements.
  • Gained experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex business problems.
  • A proven track record in budgetary, resource, quality and timeline planning and creation of achievable projects.
  • Management of relationships with internal & external customers at executive level using influencing skills to manage expectation of capability.  Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
  • Ability to blend creative, problem-solving, and technical skills for refining existing theories or developing new system approaches to seize opportunities and sustain business success.
  • Ability to operate under a dual reporting relationship (Software, customers).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, engineering or a related discipline with an information technology focuses; highly desirable to have M.B.A. degree or equivalent.  
  • Project Management Accredited Courses, Relevant PM Certification e.g. PMP and CSM.
  • Certified in process engineering, (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
