Project Director

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.  Our Project Directors play a key role within ICON and are responsible for the overall coordination, implementation and completion of regional/global cross-functional projects including consistency with ICON SOPs, study contracts and budgets.

Overview of the Role

You will have the overall responsibility for client relationship and service delivery and to oversee, direct and be an active participant in the growth and development of Interactive Technologies division. 

As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.

-       Serve as the ITG internal and external escalation point of contact for one or more key clients to ensure consistent delivery of products and services.

-       Overall responsibility for client relationship and service delivery

-       Responsible for escalation of risk to senior management.

-       Keep senior management informed of the status of Client Portfolio of projects – to include issues in relation to budget, personnel, quality, and timelines.

-       Understand client needs and priorities and ensure timely resolution to client requests.

-       Client performance metrics and reporting

-       Forecast planning and consulting with business development on proposals (BD Support)

-       Resource assignment and prioritization.

-       Hire and train project managers and provide day to day line management direction.

-       Performance management and staff development

-       Ensure staff understands roles and responsibilities.

-       Ensure all necessary training is provided to his/her staff to improve job performance and knowledge.

-       Ensure Accountability and responsibility at all levels.

-       Continually monitor/review project results to identify and implement best practices.

Role Requirements

-         You will possess a Bachelor’s Degree or local equivalent in Life Science, computer Science or equivalent.

-         A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management and successfully interfacing with external clients

-         Excellent communication skills, written and verbal – extensive of telephone and face-to-face communication are keys to this role.

-         Strong customer service ethic with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.

-         Prior IVRS or relevant technical experience desirable.

-         Prior team management experience desirable.

-         Knowledge of Clinical Trials industry desirable

-         Ability to coordinate all aspects of study management

-         Ability to successfully manage project team(s).

-         Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines.

-         Ability to liaise successfully with clients.

-         Foreign language skills desirable.
