JOB TITLE: Revenue Supervisor
LOCATION: Dublin
 
 
SUMMARY OF POSITION
  • Develop a team under supervision, developing a strong “can do”, customer centric culture within the team.
  • Deliver the design, implementation and future development of a best in class efficient revenue recognition team across nominated departments and regions.
  • Responsible for design and establishment of positive interactions with internal customers and stakeholders across the organisation ensuring;
    • continuous development and improvement of revenue recognition processes; and
    • a comprehensive and prompt understanding of developments in all studies.
Deliver accurate financial data to specified deadlines in accordance with latest US GAAP requirements
 
 
 
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance.
  • Develop and manage the team under supervision ensuring;
    • staff have roles that are both rewarding in terms of personal satisfaction and challenging
    • staff  are tasked to responsibilities best utilizing their existing skill sets
    • development plans are designed, agreed and implemented to develop skills sets further
    • Facilitating open communication through a collaborative approach.
  • Responsible for team calculation and completion of both actual and forecasted revenue by department and region on a monthly basis to Corporate Deadlines, again with comprehensive analysis for efficient senior FSSC management review
  • Ability to independently manage workload to ensure that sufficient time can be given to supervise direct reports and to manage own responsibilities
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of both Revenue Recognition and the process to achieve it in Oracle Financials to be able to coach/mentor and delegate effectively to team members.
  • Ensuring prompt on time production of all current reports by directly reporting team including specifically Close, Forecast and Backlog reports. 
  • Support for monthly close process, ensuring team delivery of all required audit (both internal and external) documentation and ensuring full and effective compliance with SoX requirements
  • Develop succession planning within directly reporting team to the end that natural successors ready in waiting for own role and that you in turn are a ready successor to line manager
  • Constant search for and implementation of increased efficiencies and process improvements
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and continue to deliver high quality results in a timely manner
 
 
SUPERVISION
  • Lead, develop & strengthen the revenue accountants directly supervised by this position. This includes;
    • motivation & mentoring;
    • training & development;
    • people management;
    • performance management;
    • employee relations;
succession planning.
 
 
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Prior relevant experience at a supervisory level within industry
  • Knowledge of US GAAP / SEC requirements
  • Experience of managing direct reports
  • Oracle Financials, Revenue recognition experience desirable but not a pre requisite
 
 
 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Business/Finance degree, Qualified Accountant with senior experience (CPA , ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc) or both
