Our Clinical Outcomes
Assessment (COA) team requires a Senior Principal to develop and execute our
business strategy and provide scientific leadership. The Senior Principal
serves as the lead scientist for COA studies, taking responsibility for the
scientific integrity of the research. They proactively and independently develop and their knowledge
base on COA-related research methods and follow relevant news, trends and best
practices. The Senior Principal provides mentoring and/or supervision and is
involved with staff development, providing overall leadership within the ICON
COA Scientific team through hands-on guidance and support.

The COA team
sits within ICON’s Commercialization and Outcomes group. These services are
geared to meet the demands of global and national markets for high quality
patient-centered data. Our COA team brings together a large team of scientists
and consultants with expertise in selection, development, validation and
analysis of PROs and other COA instruments.
We currently
have an opportunity for a Senior Principal, based out of our San
Francisco, California office. The Senior Principal plays a critical role in the
scientific side of our business, providing expert knowledge in this field.

Applicants must
be able to demonstrate awareness of key competitors and how our service
offering can provide a superior experience to our clients. Open to 20% travel
domestic and/or international. You will have at least 15 years’ experience in outcomes research
with a minimum of 6 years in a strategic consulting role. Extensive academic
research experience in a related outcomes research methodology may offset some
of this work experience. You must also have advanced proficiency with MS-Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Bachelor's
Degree or local equivalent in a related field is required and a Master’s or PhD
in a related field is preferred. A background with proven ability to work in an
environment that is fast paced, problem-solving capabilities, dynamic
presentation skills, and great interpersonal skills. Also drive, passion and a strong sense of team work in a multi-language/multi-cultural
environment, along with a desire to progress within our organization.
