I joined ICON in January 2015 as a recent graduate, having majored in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Concentration: Pharmaceutics and Biotechnology, from the University of Pennsylvania. I’ve joined ICON as an Analyst in Pricing and Market Access in the Commercialisation & Outcomes division. I’m excited that I’ve started my career here – I was interested in joining an industry leader that works with top clients in the biopharmaceutical space and I hope to learn a lot in the early stages of my career. Before ICON, I undertook internships in research laboratories, investigating the fields of Immunology and Oncology.
My day-to-day role involves collecting information from primary and secondary research in order to synthesise relevant conclusions and recommendations for our clients. It’s an enjoyable role, as I am able to learn new skills on a regular basis and am constantly taking on new responsibilities as part of my career development. I work in a team that is full of intelligent, driven and detail-orientated people which certainly makes my job easier! We all want to learn as we work, which has led to our monthly information exchange presentations – they allow me to understand and learn about other people’s projects, as well as acquiring useful knowledge for my own job. The office culture is something I really appreciate – everyone is great to get along with in both a professional and social scale. I work closely with senior members of my team which has helped me gain a lot of experience in a short space of time.
