Veteran Leadership Training Program

My functional manager and mentors have been phenomenal helping me adjust to the clinical research industry. The Veterans Leadership Transition Program (VLTP) that ICON developed has made my transition after 20 years in the United States Marine Corps into corporate life an easy and fun process. This terrific group of veterans have been instrumental in completing my first year. The comradery and acceptance has made me feel right at home, The VLTP has helped me capitalize on my strengths and and develop any gaps in my knowledge.

I enjoy the fact that we get to work on projects that will eventually help people that are suffering. It makes it easier to go to work everyday when you are working on something that helps people. After leaving the military I was excited to find another job where the work I would be doing would actually make a difference. It is also great to work for a company that understands what my previous time in the military brings to the table as an Associate Project Manager to start with and now a Project Manager.

The past few years while serving on active duty with the Air Force, I basically lived out of my suitcase because I was never home. I wanted a position in the civilian world that would provide a better work life balance and flexibility in my schedule. At ICON the transition from the military to the civilian world made me a bit nervous, but the Veteran Leadership Transition Program (VLTP) has made this transition easy.
