 Director, Finance Business Partnering

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hardworking financial professional to join ICON’s highly professional and experienced Finance department to support one of ICON’s largest service line.

The Role
 
The Financial Business Planning group is the service line financial analysis function of ICON. The department role is to provide independent, objective financial and consulting services designed to add value, direction and leadership to assist the business in attaining success.
Role responsibilities include:
 
  • Management of Finance Business Partnering team  who focus is on providing proactive support, advice and guidance to business managers in the development of business plans to achieve specific objectives consistent with the organizations strategic objectives
  • Drive the achievement of consistent high standards and added value and maximizing the effectiveness of the working interface between Finance and the Business;
  • Lead the Business Partnering team that contributes towards the development of pricing strategies around winning new business, whilst providing commercial and financial support to maximize profitability on live proposals;
  • Champion margin enhancement initiatives across the business  unit with innovative,  fresh and pragmatic suggestions to drive incremental margin from ongoing programs
  • Lead and co-ordinate the budgeting and forecasting cycles, with the necessary interactions and engagements with various levels of the business and organization.
  • Focus on building an open and collaborative communication culture and develop talent so that ICON should always be in a position to promote from within;
  • Support the business management teams by providing value add financial analysis which provides insights into the challenges at play and considered avenues to resolution  
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to line managers in the development of their budgets; Ensure that adequate tracking and reporting systems are in place to report on performance against budget; to explain variances, and to initiate corrective action;
  • Adhere to the monthly and quarterly  reporting deadlines, which must met on a timely basis including completion and submission of reporting packs and associated commentary.

 
Experience, Knowledge Requirements and candidate profile:
  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 7 plus years’ experience in financial analysis or financial analysis and planning who is seeking to take their career to the next level.
  • Proactive approach to problem identification, management and resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization with the capability to build solid, lasting, trust-based working partnerships.
  • A self-confident, decisive personality whose superior interpersonal skills invite participation and engagement through effective communication and the ability to influence and negotiate;
  • A natural communicator who will lead and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices, with a proven track record in developing high performing teams
  • A dedicated professional, committed to delivering superior service through having an open disposition and a willingness to listen and learn.
