Finance Manager - Revenue

Are you an expert Financial Accountant who thins commercially and enjoys partnering with cross functional teams on a global scale?

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to work within a dynamic, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.

The Role:

You will be responsible for leading and developing a customer centric team, progressively improving the reputation of the GBS Revenue Recognition function across the ICON business.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

You will lead the team to deliver accurate revenue data in accordance with US GAAP for comprehensive analysis by senior management.
Calculation and completion of forecasted revenue by department as per agreed deadlines.
Delivery of all required audit (both internal and external) documentation and ensuring full and effective compliance with SoX requirements.
Management of reporting to internal partners with resolutions of queries in an efficient and systematic fashion.
Responsible for implementation of a team structure and process design delivering a standardised and scalable revenue recognition process.
Mentor and develop team members, as well as the wider revenue function ensuring a culture of “can do” and constant process improvement in the search for increased efficiency.
Develop strong team ethos within direct reports, facilitating open communication through a collaborative approach.
Establish a close working relationship with peer Revenue Managers, ensuring presentation of a single unified global revenue team image to all customers and partners.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.).
5 years’ experience within an Accounting role.
Experienced in coaching and mentoring team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a rare ability to influence senior business partners.
Commercially astute with the ability to provide the business with accurate and timely information.
Oracle Financials experience preferable with good working knowledge of with MS Excel.
Ability to work to tight deadlines with dedication to accuracy.
Demonstrate an ability to handle own work while directing a team.
Ability to work with a high degree of own initiative.
