Lab Assistant (Cleaning/Maintenance) - Tuesday-Saturday 10a-630p

If you have experience handling biological lab specimens and prepping samples for delivery to a clinical laboratory; learn how you can play a key role as Laboratory Assistant for ICON Laboratory Services which is dedicated exclusively to central laboratory testing and the associate services for clinical trials.    

About the Laboratory Assistant role within ICON: 

The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for dumping ice, cleaning the freezers, dumping garbage, and loading work onto the accessioners desk. They will monitor, receive and outsource shipments and ensures that all samples are tracked and accounted for, troubleshoot extra samples and notify shipping facility of any discrepancies, assists with the preparation of samples for testing, retrieve/return samples from long-term storage to laboratory for testing upon request and collate and transfer samples for long term storage.

The Laboratory Assistant will manage specimen storage rotation and disposal as well as the Relabeling, Uncapping, and Recapping of samples, assist with Inventory logs and counts, and manage queries from Client Services regarding Add-On Testing and identify the proper sample.

To succeed you will need:

You will possess a High School Diploma along with 1 year of related experience in a Clinical Laboratory. You will have basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office along with excellent written/verbal communication skills, the ability to handle large work load demands and trouble shoot issues timely when required, and exhibit appropriate time management skills and attention to detail.   Demonstrated ability to keep accurate, legible records and recognize the need to handle these records and all other information in line with GCP/GLP/GDP.  Must have ability to lift 25lbs to 50lbs.
