ICON Plc has an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional which will involve handling a broad range of domestic and international legal issues across ICON’s business.

You will become part of an award-winning and highly motivated legal team based in ICON’s global headquarters in Dublin where you will be responsible for supporting ICON’s global business legal needs in the areas of contract, corporate, employment, IP/IT, data protection, litigation and regulatory/compliance.

Daily Responsibilities will include:

• You will review, draft and negotiate a wide range of general client and vendor commercial contracts such as; confidentiality agreements, services agreements, clinical trial agreements, material transfer agreements, agency agreements, distribution agreements, and software license agreements.
• You will business partner with ICON’s late phase/commercialization, laboratory services and medical device and diagnostic research service lines to  provide advice on corporate, employment, IP/IT, data protection, litigation, compliance, insurance and any other legal matters that arise in the day to day operation of the business.
• You will lead various legal projects to completion and liaise with internal teams in the business for input and support in such projects.
• Partnering with external counsel (handling and minimizing costs to the extent possible).
• You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on ad-hoc projects as required.

To be successful in the role you will need:

• LLB, LLM or equivalent law degree preferred.
• Qualified lawyer (e.g. solicitor, barrister or equivalent) with a minimum of 2-3 years PQE.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial contracts. Litigation experience is also a positive.
• Ability to independently evaluate complex legal concepts/issues, assess risk and provide commercially-focused pragmatic solutions to the business.
• A standout colleague with excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative under tight timelines in a fast paced environment.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
