Logistics Coordinator II

ICON plc, a leading Clinical Research Organisation, employing approximately 13,500 employees across 97 offices in 38 countries, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Logistics Coordinator II to join its Logistics Team at its Leopardstown Global HQ.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large logistics team all working globally to help ICON achieve its goal of improving and saving people’s lives.

As a Logistics Coordinator II, you will be responsible for the set up and implementation of protocol specific logistics. You will monitor all inbound deliveries to ICON, as well as outbound shipments from ICON and follow up on delays and other issues with relevant couriers to ensure client requirements are met. They will also be responsible for Invoice creation, as well as liaising with clients in reference to the invoices.

The Role:

Contact couriers for required collection information based on protocol site lists as provided by Project Management. Select couriers and provide collection information to Project Management in timely manner.
Document and research any issues with inbound deliveries or courier invoices/documentation. Direct issues to relevant couriers or other contacts as required for clarification of the issue.
Create Proforma/Commercial invoices based on the commodities of a particular shipment, as well as any country or client specifications. Liaise with client’s CRO or Importer regarding shipment notification or assisting their invoice requirements for an Import Permit.
To prepare and ship supplies to sites or other destinations as required.
Collects and maintains inbound and outbound courier performance metrics.
Obtains pricing quotes from carriers on shipments and seeks cost effective methods.
Attends inter-departmental meetings to guide PM on import and export regulations related to specific shipments.
To carry out specific tasks relevant to the Logistics assigned by the Logistics Management.
To order supplies as required in the section or specific study.
To contact Couriers, Consignors, or CROs as required.

The Candidate:

Leaving certificate or a certificate or diploma in the Life Sciences or administrative computer-related field.
Experience in Logistics or Logistics qualification preferred.
