If you have experience developing and providing analysis for US benefit programs learn how you can play a key role as the Senior Benefits Specialist within ICON’s Human Resource Department.
 
The Senior Benefits Specialist  will be responsible ensuring plans run smoothly, investigates discrepancies, and assist in developing innovative strategies that are aligned with the business overall objectives.  Will report to the Sr. Manager, Performance & Reward and provide consultative services to the Human Resources team, Management and employees regarding employee benefit plans/policies for the US and Canada.
 
About the Senior Benefits Specialist role within ICON:
Responsible to develop analysis on current benefits, evaluate the use, plan provisions, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and market trends in US benefit programs. Underwriting analysis to project renewal cost for US medical programs. Develop ICON and DOCs Renewal analysis by evaluating utilization reports, identifying actual or potential problems or future changes based on overall benefit strategies, activity trends, and implementing change as appropriate. Assists in the planning and development of various benefit programs to meet company and department goals and objectives. Conduct comparative benefit surveys to assess ICON’s competitive position and recommend modification when necessary.

 

Update Annual Enrollment Guide and Fact Sheets to include new plan changes. Performs due diligence pertaining to benefits for acquisitions. Ensures a smooth transition to company benefits by acquired entities, which may include merging of legacy 401k Plans, assumption of seller plans through defined transition periods, and all reporting that may be required for legacy seller plans. Work closely with Vendors to review plan experience, utilization, strengths, and program effectiveness and discuss strategies for cost control.

To succeed you will need:

Must be flexible and able to work effectively with all levels of employees. Considerable knowledge and demonstrated work experience in all areas of employee benefit. programs with understanding of some global benefits and insurance concepts. Strong project management and complex problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Minimum of five years of progressive experience in benefits field and Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Experience with vendor and broker management required.

 

Through understanding of state and federal relating to benefit plans and all applicable laws relating to benefit administration (including COBRA, HIPPA, and ERISA), and be able to effectively work with company policies and state/federal laws. Attention to detail and timely follow up with strong multi-tasking and organization skills. Excellent oral, written, organizational and presentation skill.
