Senior Project Manager

Position Name : Senior Project Manager

Location : Tokyo, Japan or Osaka, Japan

l  As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.

l  Travel (approximately 25%} domestic and/or international

l  Primary point of contact for designated complex, cross-functional, regional and/or global projects and responsible for developing successful working relationships with clients, and ensure repeat business return to ICON

l  Responsible for project planning, scheduling and implementation

l  Define project scope, resource requirements and deliverables

l  Develop and maintain cross functional project management plans

l  Responsible for risk mitigation strategies, associated action plan and issue resolution

l  Responsible for managing cross-functional project team including ensuring all necessary project training is provided to assigned staff

l  Provide direction and support to project team

l  Manage projects in accordance with the contract

l  Proactively manage any study budget including changes in scope

l  Collaborate with Business Development

l  Managing study invoicing procedures

l  Track Project deliverables using appropriate tools

l  Effectively monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders

l  Implement QC activities as necessary and monitor required quality metrics

l  Develop a succession plan for core team members and in the event of a change to the team to ensure an effective handover

l  Mentoring and training relevant project personnel as appropriate

l  Participating in the interview process as necessary

l  Maintain confidentiality of management information as appropriate

l  Participate in business development activities including bid defense and proposal activities

l  Participate in Company initiatives as requested

l  Other duties as assigned

Qualification :

1. With 5+ years’ experience in PM skills, at least 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/clinical research industry;

2. Thorough knowledge of ICH GCP and relevant regulations and a basic knowledge of the drug development and clinical trials process;

3. Previous experience within the industry including a satisfactory progression of responsibility and relevant experience working within a project team within clinical, DM, Statistical management etc.

4. The experience in leadership and/or management activities for a satisfactory progression is required;

5. Project management experience at regional/global level;

6. Excellent communication ability and skills for interacting among internal & external customer, especially in English; Native-level Japanese is a must. 

7. Science degree or above education background, major in clinical or pharmacy area is preferred.
