Senior Director, Project Management (CNS) role at ICON plc

As a Senior Director within our therapeutically aligned CNS team, you will work cross functionally to develop clinical strategies for clinical trials and programs. Partner with our Project Teams to support them in presenting creative strategies to ICON customers. Provide coaching and mentoring to Program Managers and Project Managers (PMs) and contribute to department training initiatives, as appropriate to ensure teams are delivering creative solutions to our customers with an emphasis on drug development and innovation.  

Coordinate and manage the activities of individuals, studies and staff in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met and that costs are kept under control. Partner with CNS Therapeutic Area Head on growth of the CNS Portfolio through building strategic customer relationships that result in repeat awards and business. Work with Business Development in supporting proposals including proposal writing and budget development.

Bachelor’s Degree in medicine, science or equivalent degree is required and a qualification in Project Management or equivalent (PMI certification) or advanced medical degree is highly desired.

A minimum of 8 years of full service project management or clinical research consulting experience with therapeutic expertise across a wide array of complex CNS indications is required including preference for experience in Alzheimer’s, Pain, or MS.  Strong drug development knowledge is required.

Track record of successfully leading large, complex, global, and cross functional projects. Strong domestic and international project management experience required. Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
