We are looking for a Sr. Finance Analyst to join our strategic Commercial Business Partnering Group at ICON!  ICON’s Senior Financial Analyst opportunity will allow you to function as a key Business Partner supporting external clients with continuous visibility and predictability on program budgets and cash use, providing precise financial and operational reporting to program leaders, and minimizing the client’s internal report generation workload.

As part of ICON’s Commercial Business Partners’ group the Senior Financial Analyst drives economic and financial decision-making and analysis necessary to develop proposals, mount bid defenses, close deals, and manage, report, and support ICON Sponsors’ financial needs.

The Senior Financial Analyst is the primary Sponsor-facing financial contact (excl. contracting responsibilities), responsible for managing the direct customer financial interfaces through the life of the relationship. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing external client financial reports related to study and portfolio customer requests, including actual and forecasted reporting and investigator fee and pass-through forecasting.

The Senior Financial Analyst  will also assist with ad hoc financial and business case analysis, including cash flow projections or alternative payment scenarios to help the Sponsor manage their cash outlay – this can include financial modeling around financing or study milestones, portfolio spend by month/quarter/year, and cumulative spend projections inclusive of direct fees, investigator grants, and pass-through costs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, build and prepare external client financial reports related to study and portfolio Sponsor requests. Requests may entail significant excel-based data compilation and financial analysis. Recommend actions for optimizing report performance and understanding financial trends.
• Assist in developing and preparing monthly reporting package for study team, including timelines, hours/units vs. budget, burn rates, trend analysis, forecasting, and invoicing.
• Prepare presentations for reviews and other purposes using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial and business case analyses.

• Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international. 

What you need:

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in financial analysis or financial planning and analysis. Desire to continue their financial education (CFA, MBA, CPA, CMA or other relevant financial education). Effective verbal and written skills to work with peers, managers and Business Lead executives. Strong Microsoft Excel experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Driver’s license.
