Technical Accounting Manager #LI-SS2

The Role:

This role is within the ICON group finance team and will support the wider ICON finance teams in ensuring preparation for and application of new accounting standards, in identifying and dealing with accounting matters related to complex transactions and providing support to the wider ICON finance teams in dealing with once-off or unusual business transactions or events. The individual will also be responsible for monitoring developments in the regulatory environment for SEC filers and support the group finance and wider finance teams in ensuring compliance.

To be successful, you should have strong accounting technical skills and experience, good report writing and presentation skills and strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities will include:

Supporting the group finance team and wider finance teams in ensuring preparation for and application of new accounting standards (revenue, leasing and others).
Supporting the group’s SOX and PCAOB compliance.
Being proficient and comfortable in accounting technical research and interpretation across multiple GAAPs.
Acting as a key liaison with external auditors and accounting advisors to ensure timely sign off on technical accounting matters.
Providing accounting and regulatory guidance (both US GAAP & IFRS) to internal customers and stakeholders on key accounting matters impacting the business.
An ability to monitor, analyse and communicate status of emerging accounting guidance and its potential impact on the group.
An aptitude to build strong working relationship with business unit teams, general ledger finance, taxation and legal teams in identifying, analyzing and communicating accounting issues from new transactions or other activities.
Collaborating with internal customers and stakeholders to develop & continually improve processes & systems for both financial and statutory reporting.
Assisting as required in driving project related activity on acquisitions, changes in group structure and providing ad hoc accounting technical and commercial support across the wider finance teams.

Experience requirements:

Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA with minimum 6 years PQE
Fully conversant with accounting standards across multiple GAAPs.
Experienced in a range of finance disciplines including e.g. corporate finance, regulatory reporting, taxation, and treasury.
An ability to lead and implement development, implementation and continuous improvement of systems, initiatives and processes.
A confident, decisive person with strong interpersonal skills
A team player with an ability to influence and negotiate.
An accomplished professional who is tenacious and determined
A dedicated individual with a willingness to listen and learn.
