To effectively manage the activities for those under his/her jurisdiction in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met and that costs are kept under control.
Job Responsibilities:

•As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
•Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international.
•Perform all duties/functions in his/her group for projects at all levels of complexity in a timely manner in adherence with ICON Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and appropriate project specifications as needed.
•Ensure that projects are conducted in a timely manner in adherence with ICON Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and appropriate regulations and to liaise with other department and project managers as necessary to achieve this.
•Keep management informed of project status in relation to quality and timelines.
•Liaise with clients on project related matters as needed.
•Liaise with other managers/directors to improve the effectiveness of the organization.
•Develop and implement system wide standards and processes to improve efficiency and promote consistent designs.
•Complete projects and other duties on time with no supervision.
•Work directly with other department managers when quality and timelines are at risk.
•Serve as designee, when assigned, for other responsibilities for the department.
•Maintain confidentiality of management information as appropriate.
•Develop or assist the Director or designee with developing metrics to qualify and quantify the health of the Validation department.
•Report or assist the Director or designed with reporting Validation department metrics information to executive management.
•Make sound decisions based on available information in order to contribute to the success of the company.
•Address quality issues in accordance with ICON Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and Work Procedures (WP’s)
•Give input on decisions to the Director or designee that affect the Validation department.
•Make independent decisions that have direct impact upon the Validation department.
•Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and suggest the corrective and preventive actions.
•May be required to be on call to support after hours issues as they arise.
•Other related responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Experience:
•To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. •US/LATAM/CAN: minimum 8 years of experience in software testing.
•EU/APAC: Significant proven experience in software testing.
•Successfully manage employees in his/her group.
•Successfully balance multiple projects and timelines.
•Coordinate and perform all aspects of the functions in his/her group.
•Liaise successfully with other teams and clients.
•Extensive problem solving skills for tasks/functions related to his/her group.
•US/LATAM/CAN: minimum 4 years of experience in Test Automation Tools or Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is preferred.
•EU/APAC: Prior relevant experience in Test Automation Tools or Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is preferred.
•Significant proven experience in testing application in Water Fall or Agile /Scrum development process is preferred.
•Significant proven experience in all aspects of Software testing Life Cycle (STLC) such as Test Plan preparation, Test Script preparation, Test execution, Defect reporting and tracking is preferred.
•Significant proven experience in Black Box Testing, Graphical User Interface (GUI) Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Database Testing, System, Functional, Smoke, Sanity, and Regression Testing is preferred.
•Significant proven experience in testing various applications developed in Java, .Net, Oracle, MySQL and C++ is preferred.
•Knowledge in testing Client Server applications is preferred.
•Significant proven experience in testing Web Services is preferred.
•Basic knowledge of JAVA Script and VB Script.
•Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.
