Experienced Senior Epidemiologist required to take responsibility for contributing research and management related activities, to the Epidemiology and/or Health Economics team within our Commercialisation and Outcomes division in Canada.

Overview of the role

We seek a Principal of Epidemiology to lead our group in Canada; the sucessful candidate willl ideally be based in Vancouver but also US based candidates will be considered.. Our Health Economics and Epidemiology teams are respected in the field for the quality of their work and methodological innovations.

We are looking for an individual to lead teams of experienced analysts with respect to study design, resource management, and client communication on multiple projects.

This role will include involvement in epidemiological and/or health economic projects across the drug development lifecycle, including oversight as well as an active participatory role in a number of projects. This may include: observational studies (e.g. retrospective chart reviews or surveys, administrative database analysis, prospective cohort studies, registries), systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses and network meta-analyses, cost-effectiveness and budget impact models, infectious disease modeling, risk-benefit analysis, and preparation of value dossiers for health technology assessment.

The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in more than one of these areas, and sufficient experience and expertise to provide content expertise and leadership on a day-to-day basis, while liaising with methodological experts within our network of scientific collaborators, for additional senior guidance.
A Master’s degree or PhD in health economics, epidemiology, or another related discipline. Experience of working in consultancy, industry and academia are all welcome; however, preference will be given to those having consulting experience.
Ability to lead the content development of proposals and study protocols of health economics and epidemiology projects, in consultation with methodological and clinical experts as needed.
A clear understanding of the analytical methods used within such studies.
A proven track record of successful project management in a fast paced environment, with the ability to demonstrate excellent project performance including attention to client satisfaction, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
A willingness to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively in a complex business environment including remote staff, subcontractors and external collaborators.
Demonstrated strong teamwork abilities; both as a team leader but also when taking on a support role.
Ability to develop strategies for solving scientific/technical problems within the Practice.
A willingness to train, mentor, supervise and manage staff development.
An interest in packaging and communicating high quality science clearly and imaginatively to different audiences.
Ability to lead and engage effectively with project teams.
High self-motivation.

This is a permanent, full time position. The salary is competitive and negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
