IT Solutions Architect
Location: Leopardstown, Dublin 18

At ICON, we have an incredible opportunity for an expert IT Solutions Architect to join the team in our global HQ in Leopardstown, Dublin 18.
The Role
Joining an innovative and supportive team of Architects, you will support the definition of ICON's Future State Architecture, and perform the necessary leadership, analysis, design and communication of tasks to define and ensure that Solution Architectures (SA) for programs of work are aligned with the future state. You will be super organised with the ability to influence business decisions and work collaboratively on a global scale.
- Analyse enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements.
- Analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Keeping up to date with technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
- Influence the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results.
- Define the principles to guide solution decisions for the enterprise.
- Design and lead the implementation of an SA based on enterprise business requirements and IT strategies.
- Design and lead the governance activities associated with ensuring SA compliance.
- Develop a road map of the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from the current to a simplified future state.
- Coordinate solution architecture implementation and modification activities.
- Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards, as well as the design of standard software configurations.
- Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs.
- Identify the organizational impact and financial impact of the SA.
- Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
- Partner closely with the enterprise program management office (EPMO) or project office to ensure alignment of plans with what is being delivered.
What you need
- Seven to ten years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in an enterprise role designing enterprise applications (n-tier, web-based) and/or information management (ETL. SOA, MDM) solutions.
- Exposure to architecting for cloud, mobility, collaboration, portal & workflow-centric solutions.
- Exposure to Identity and Access management, and enterprise security requirements and constraints.
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
- Strong leadership skills with super communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with the ability to plan effectively.
- Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture.
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.
- Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies.
- Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
- Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
