SPACE - Employee Resource Group

SPACE at ICON

SPACE is a Community Group that Supports Parents And Carers Everywhere. We aim to create awareness and education, with a view to building an effective SPACE community that provides individual, group and regional support connections for parents and carers.

We will provide support connections and resources for parents and carers that are preparing to step out, along with support and resources to facilitate the return to work experience and support for day-to-day challenges.

How ICON’s SPACE Group is Supporting Working Parents and Carers

Discover how Triona, a Client Relationship Manager at ICON Ireland, is championing work-life balance through her co-leadership of the SPACE (Supporting Parents and Carers Everywhere) employee resource group.

In this insightful video, Triona talks about her own experiences as a working parent, the challenges many face, and how SPACE is creating a community of support within ICON. Learn how this initiative is helping employees thrive in both their personal and professional lives.

The SPACE group supports those who work at ICON, but also have a parental or caring role in their personal life. SPACE recognises the challenges for people with this dual role and aims to provide support and community. A big part of SPACE’s work is connecting people, as we firmly believe in the power of talking with peers and feeling seen and heard.

SPACE runs virtual coffee mornings globally, connecting members in various niche breakout groups. SPACE also hosts a podcast series on relevant topics such as ‘end of life care’ and ‘birth trauma’. SPACE also invites external speakers to give live talks on relevant topics for our group members; most recently, we were joined by an expert on neurodiversity in children.

Finally, SPACE runs events annually across the ICON offices globally to celebrate the group in person. This May, the Dublin office gave out free coffees, cupcakes, and lollypops to bring awareness on the group, and broadcasted a recording with parenting expert Sue Atkins on managing technology with children.

SPACE is a truly inclusive and diverse group that hopefully makes a positive impact on their members’ working experience.
