Finance Business Planning
The Finance Business Partner team stands at the forefront of financial planning, analysis, and advisory. We empower department leaders and their teams by providing strategic financial insights and support that drive informed decision-making and sustainable growth. Finance Business Planning offers a solid career path, supporting or overseeing business portfolios, large scale budgets and P&L. We offer opportunities across our regions including Financial Analysts, Supervisors, Managers and Director level roles.
Group Finance
The Group Finance team is a diverse division, including Tax, Treasury, Commercial finance, Business partnering for our Global Business Services teams, Corporate Controllership, Technical accounting and Finance Transformation.
This team works with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to:
- Ensure we report on ICON’s performance in a timely, accurate and useful manner to the market and our regulators
- Support the ICON Leadership Team and Board in providing insightful, and timely analysis on a monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Optimise our capital and tax structures (Tax and Treasury)
- Support the support functional leaders and their teams in planning and managing their cost base and strategies (Business Partnering)
- Work with internal partners and our customers to negotiate fair and appropriate commercial terms for our work (commercial finance)
- Work with the broader finance teams and IT to improve our processes and reporting (Finance Transformation)
- Support the M&A process in acquisition evaluation (Corporate FP&A)
Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE)
Finance COE work in collaboration with ICON’s operating business units and global support functions to ensure that the finance needs of the business are satisfied and that our compliance and regulatory obligations are fulfilled. Our team is responsible for the recording and reporting of the transactions that underpin all aspects of the ICON business: from revenue recognition, customer invoicing and cash collection to the processing and payment of payroll, and other costs.

As one of the largest clinical research organizations globally, ICON conducts clinical trials worldwide at any given time. These trials involve collaboration with hospitals, clinics, doctors, nurses, medical professionals, and support staff to ensure studies are conducted to the highest standards. At the heart of every clinical trial are the patients who participate.
All stakeholders involved in clinical trials incur payments and expenses. The Investigator Payments team is responsible for ensuring these payments are processed accurately and promptly. We are dedicated to continuously improving the efficiency and accuracy of this process. We also manage Accounts Payable and employee expenses. Our opportunities involve close collaboration with colleagues across multiple departments, including Clinical, Contract Services, Finance, and Legal, as well as ICON and Client/Sponsor Project Managers. We look for people with strong attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills.Internal Audit
The Internal Audit team supports ICON by providing independent evaluations of risk management, governance, financial, and operational activities.
The Internal Audit team does this by collaborating with the business to assess controls surrounding these activities, suggesting recommendations for improvement, and then providing results to our Audit Committee and Management.
