We are currently seeking a Manager, IT Operations to join our diverse and dynamic team. The Manager, IT Operations is responsible for managing their relevant technology area within Core IT. They coordinate system and infrastructure administrative functions with a sound understanding of the interactions between hardware, operating systems, databases and network operations to ensure an efficient, reliable and secure infrastructure.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Embrace and contribute to the culture of process improvement, focusing on enhancing efficiency, adding value, and meeting client needs.
- In a managerial role, recognize the significance of cultivating a culture of process improvement with an emphasis on streamlining processes, adding value, and satisfying customer needs.
- Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, approximately 5% of the time.
- Coordinate Infrastructure schedules, plans, timelines, and resource assignments.
- Oversee and coordinate Core IT personnel to ensure the availability of Core IT Infrastructure.
- Plan and deploy new system implementations and upgrades.
- Coordinate disaster recovery planning and testing (DRP).
- Provide technical consulting and hands-on assistance during critical situations.
- Implement Infrastructure changes with minimal user impact and communicate effectively.
- Attend Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Problem management meetings.
- Contribute to the development of relevant SOPs/WPs/BPs.
- Provide input into the Core IT budget.
- Act as an escalation point for staff and address serious Infrastructure problems.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other IT functional areas to ensure global Infrastructure meets business requirements.
- Direct third-party vendors and internal IT staff on Infrastructure activities.
- Analyze IT processes to identify deficiencies impacting efficiency and effectiveness.
- Research and recommend new technologies and strategies.
- May represent IT in sponsor audits.
- Manage "simplification" and "standardization" programs aligned with Core IT strategy.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven leadership experience in managing IT projects and teams.
- Proficiency in software development, coding, and testing practices with a solid trach record.
- Demonstrated ability to create and nurture a culture of continuous process improvement and streamlined operations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and XP, for process optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of technology trends and the ability to drive their adoption within the organization.
- Proven skills in designing, coding, and testing application features, accompanied by detailed documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective status reporting and issue escalation.
- Experience in collaborating with development and test teams across multiple locations for successful project outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the CRO (Clinical Research Organization) vertical and related software systems.
