The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have a key role in the design and implementation of complete features or new products within a scrum team. Working in a global team environment to build and optimize complex, custom software applications. We’re taking a fresh approach at ways that technology and analytics can empower those working in the clinical lifecycle and shape the future of clinical development.
Writing quality software and logging any defects as well as executing meaningful unit tests to coverage requirements
Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Ability to keep engineering leadership informed and present complex technical solutions both upward and downward.
Collaborating with the team, you will optimize complex, custom software applications.
Breaking down and estimating tasks to be handed off to junior software engineers.
Be proactive in software design/architecture, working closely with architects and software engineers to come up with the right solution to the problem.
Be an active participant and lead code reviews.
Responsible for code peer review and test standards and process.
Developing good estimates of effort required for analysis, design, and development so as to feed into overall sprint planning.
Partnering with the team on reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
What you need:
Minimum IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering related degree or equivalent with at least 6+ years of experience on application development and implementation experience in Perl.
At least 2 years of experience with object-oriented Java, JavaScript, HTML & CSS are preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with object-oriented design and development.
Extensive experience with Linux environment and tools.
Experience developing database-driven applications (PostgreSQL).
