The Software Architect is an IT professional responsible for designing and implementing quality solutions in order to build great software, meet commitments and improve the efficiency of our development process.
This position works across the software development lifecycle areas:
Intake of requirements
Decomposition of technical requirements
Architecture & High Level Design
Implementation and mentoring
Coding standards
This position will allow an individual to collaboratively build innovative solutions for the ICON Digital Platform that have the potential to improve the lives of patients by bringing new drugs and devices to market faster.
The ideal candidate is a motivated individual interested in leading a team of professionals and driven by the idea of adding value in the healthcare space.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with Product and Business to understand requirements
Create architecture to support implementation of new features
Provide high level design and mentoring to Engineers on the team
Implement complex features and coordinate within and across teams
Create efficient and performant data models to support feature development
Establish a culture of using reusable code, quality standards, and libraries for future use
Lead the optimization of applications for maximum speed and scalability
Lead appropriate unit, integration and/or automated testing standards
Requirements and Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience
Strong C# development experience including .NET Core
Practical understanding of design patterns, especially the mediator pattern
Experience designing and implementing Microservices
Motivated, outspoken, problem solver able to work across disciplines and create/document/communicate designs
Strong cloud experience (hands-on Azure, AWS, Google, etc.)
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field is preferred
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience building models for SQL and NoSQL data stores
Experience conducting vendor analysis and library/tool selection
Experience using UML is a plus
FHIR experience a plus
Fundamental understanding of Agile principles
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to work with remote teams across multiple time zones
