As a Supervisor, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
Job Description:
• * To supervise and assist in the daily process flow of specimens received including unpacking and scanning of packages and the receiving routine of specimens. Oversees the proper labeling of specimens with Accessioning barcodes and their validation.
• * To supervise and assist in the receiving of samples into storage and assigning appropriate freezer space depending upon temperature requirements for the specific study.
• *To supervise and assist in the receiving of Sample Management samples into the storage modules of ICOLIMS and assigning appropriate freezer space depending upon temperature requirements for the specific study.
• *Responsible to maintain change of custody information. 10% of the time
• *To supervise and assist where necessary the preparation of client sample shipments back to the client or an appropriate 3rd party laboratory or to NY for testing as appropriate.
• *Transport of specimens to the technicians in the laboratory when necessary.
• *Filing and retrieving internal copies of all reports and forms.
• *To supervise and review purchase and the maintenance of the department's storage freezers.
• *Ensure that defined metrics are captured and reported on a regular basis as requested by CS Management.
• Performs invoices coding.
• Performs additional relevant responsibilities as requested by Management staff.
• Travel domestic or international.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-6-9 years of experience
-High school diploma
