Principal - Epidemiology

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Lead Health Economist looking to step up into a leadership role.

ICON's Late phase, Commercialization and Outcomes division is a market leader providing a range of services to the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device markets spanning Health Economics (HE), Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO), Epidemiology, Pricing & Market Access and Translations and Linguistic Validation, Medical Communications and Real World Evidence.

Overview of the role

This role would include involvement in epidemiological and/or scientist with a strong background in observational research and projects across the drug development life-cycle, which may include: observational studies (e.g. retrospective chart reviews or surveys, administrative database analysis, prospective cohort studies, registries), systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses and network meta-analyses, infectious disease modeling, risk-benefit analysis, and preparation of value dossiers for health technology assessment.

The candidate would be expected to have experience in more than one of these areas, and sufficient experience and expertise to provide content expertise and leadership on a day-to-day basis.

Role Requirements  

A Master’s degree or PhD in health economics, epidemiology, or another related discipline.  Experience of working in consultancy, industry and academia are all welcome; however, preference will be given to those having consulting experience.   Minimum 10 years’ work experience in a similar role. Extensive academic research experience in a related methodology may offset some of this work experience.  Direct experience leading a diverse set of bespoke outcomes research studies in collaboration with pharma / biotech / medical device study teams or CRO Clinical Operations divisions. Demonstrated experience in consulting. Demonstrated advanced scientific leadership experience and directing project teams.
