The role
The Real-World Solutions Strategy Lead role is to drive the development of original and innovative operational solutions and proposals to meet sponsors Late Phase and Real-World evidence generation needs and ensure that RWS achieve Net Business Goals.
The Strategy Lead leverages their operational expertise and deep understanding of regulatory and market trends to create comprehensive strategies for securing new business in the outsourced clinical research organization (CRO) sector, with a focus on real-world evidence and late-phase trials.
This role Collaborates with the Solutions Architect, Strategy Developer, and subject matter experts at ICON, the Strategy Lead develops compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches that are customized to address clients' specific research needs within their budgetary constraints.
Additionally, the Strategy Lead works closely with RWS operations to educate and support Project Managers, ensuring they fully understand the strategy and can effectively deliver a successful BDM. The Strategy Lead also partners with Global Business Development to achieve Net Business goals and fosters the growth of Late Phase and real-world partnerships with sponsors through early engagement and continuous collaboration.
What you will be doing
Understand and interpret information contained within RFP materials including protocols for the development of strategic solutions.
Manage and prioritize workload in relation to business needs, timelines and client submissions with consistent accuracy and speed.
Lead the team in developing RFP deliverables, including financial components in a high-quality manner: achieving clarity with maximum efficiency.
Ability to innovate, able to identify, escalate and implement solutions to create efficiency, increase client satisfaction.
Offer a balanced, comprehensive view that incorporates all the immediate decision-making factors and a long-term view toward downstream implications.
Bring knowledge of ICON services and innovations and deploy them to differentiate the ICON solution for the advantage of the client.
Lead discussion and negotiation with ICO Operational teams, ICON Services Leadership, and Sales Team to determine the appropriate approach to strategy and budget.
Recognize the importance of and create a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
Explore and recommend innovations to drive efficiency.
Undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Travel (approximately 20%) domestic and/or international.
You will need:
Bachelor's degree in medicine, science, or equivalent experience in the clinical research field is required.
12+ years of experience in clinical research, including at least 5 years in a relevant role supporting late-phase trials for a CRO.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal process development and strategy formulation is essential.
Experience working directly with key stakeholders both internally and external to help drive process forward.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Project management mindset with a focus on successful execution and delivery.
