Vice-President, General Partner

ICON has the world's largest dedicated biotech division partnering with small and mid-sized biopharma developing transformative therapies with a flexible approach. Biotechnology companies are at the epicenter of innovative drug development, with discoveries spanning from genomic medicines to first-in-class immunotherapies. Typically focused on a small portfolio of compounds, or just a single compound, in a particular therapeutic indication, many biotech organizations lack the full spectrum of resources or infrastructure required to bring these novel therapies to market.

 

The Vice President, General Partner role is the key executive responsible for leading these critical partnerships across ICON’s biotech portfolio. The General Partner is the executive empowered to develop and leverage key Sponsor relationships and is responsible for facilitating and driving client satisfaction across their portfolio. This spans early engagement, strategic consultative R & D strategy and design, through oversight working closely with global leadership to proactively identify and solve potential barriers to successful delivery. This position will serve as the primary executive contact to the Sponsor for all development programs, operational and financial governance and will work closely with the ICON leaders across all service lines creating central accountability with a focused and client centric approach.

  • Must have strong leadership and people development skills in order to ensure consistent and seamless global operations.

  • Adept in working with various business leaders, building consensus around strategy across diverse regions .

  • Provide strategic input into proposals, crafting innovative new approaches and program designs with partners and across ICON Biotech

  • Participate in executive partner meetings and bid defenses providing operational and strategic input

  • Coordinate and prepare clear and effective communications

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in appropriate science field required; advanced degree highly preferred

  • Senior Management experience within Biotech R&D, Large CRO or Major Life Science Consulting firm

  • Ten or more years in management positions in Clinical Development Operations or Clinical Project Management with a focus on biotechnology

  • Proven track record of success in leadership role within a large CRO or Biotech organization

  • Experienced in and knowledgeable about all key clinical operational functions (e.g. project management, clinical monitoring, data management processes, regulatory affairs and medical writing, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of the drug development process

  • Knowledge of FDA regulations GCPs/ICH

  • Proven ability with high level influencing and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communicator with ability to educate and influence decisions through clear written and verbal communication

  • Live in the Western US

  • Able to travel, as needed
