Bio
I successfully completed my PHD in the School of Medicine and Medical Science from University College Dublin in 2008 after which I moved to Australia to work as a Postdoctoral Researcher. I came to Firecrest in 2011 as a Pharmacologist where my role was to script high-quality modules and medical conditions and the associated drug mechanism.
I was promoted in September 2014 to Pharmacologist Manager, where I work to provide full line management, leadership and direction to the core Pharmacology team. The team plays a significant role in the development of medical and/or science-based 3D animations which provide overviews of the disease area in question and the mechanism of action of the investigational medicinal product.
Since I’ve worked for Firecrest, I’ve enjoyed gaining deeper insight into the clinical trial industry through internal and external lectures from SMEs. I love the variability of the job and that I am constantly learning about disease states and drug pharmacology. I have always had a keen interest in science and my role in Firecrest allows me to work on a completely new way of presenting scientific concepts. We work closely with 3D graphic designers and this has given me a unique opportunity to present science to a varied audience in a way that is both visually appealing and scientifically accurate. In my new role as Manager, I will continue to have the opportunity to acquire new skillsets in the months and years ahead.
