At ICON, we have an incredible opportunity for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join the team in our Mexico City location.

The Role:

• Supervise the AP teams in Latam including the setting of clear goals and ensures all team members have sufficient regular 1:1 type meetings and performance feedback and share the regular updates to AP Manager
• Proper co-ordination with AP Associates to ensure all accounts payable processes delegations are operating efficiently, as per the agreed timelines and corporate policies and report the updates to AP Manager
• To assist the AP Manager & liaise with the AP teams to ensure timely completion of AP Month End close
• Assist the AP Manager in recruitment of new hires & growth of the AP Team
• To assist the AP manager to complete the agreed targeted AP migration
• Supervise and oversee the accounts payable processes for a portfolio of ICON legal entities ensuring compliance with corporate policies and payment deadlines
• Report on and drive team metrics
• Manage relationship with other departments and vendors
• Continuous Improvement of Accounts Payable processes & growth of team efficiency
• Escalation point for queries
• Managing the resources effectively
• Provide cover for other team leads and/or team members
• Drive the Process Improvement Initiatives
• Ensure that the accounts payable processes for the portfolio of ICON entities assigned are completed in accordance with the timelines agreed.
• Drive the Accounts Payable process efficiently.
• Provide support to the financial accounting team.
• Create a positive environment to the team.
• Delegate the responsibility to the team leads
• Coach and mentor new and existing team leads to drive the process effectively.
• Ensure that all accounts payable processes are as efficient as possible, documented appropriately and SOX Compliant. Ensure no key control breaches occur.
• Supervise the payments process, support the cash flow forecasting process; prepare the aged listing and agreed metrics.
• Audit liaison and preparation.
• Conduct 1-1 with the team members

What you will need:

• Overall of 6 years of experience in the Accounts Payable role.
• Experience in leading a team would be added advantage
• Hold a finance related degree or equivalent
• Experience of working in a multinational environment
• Proven track record of dealing with large volumes
• Excellent working knowledge of best practices with regard to all aspects of accounts payable, with experience of implementing/improving controls (ideally SOX) in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience of migrating processes to a centralized locations an advantage
• 3 years plus exposure to the AP module of an ERP, preferably Oracle
• Ability to coach and instruct other team members is key.
• Self starter, works well on own initiative.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• Flexible, willing to take on new challenges.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proficient in standard MS Office Applications
