Business Information Manager
Location: U.S./UK/Ireland

The Role:
As the Business Information Manager, you will benefit from exposure throughout ICONs commercial and operations infrastructure, working with individuals in Project Management, Finance, Marketing, Proposals, Business Development and also the ICON Executive teams. You will hold a dual responsibility:
1. Line management, including: workload allocation, addressing training requirements, QC of RFI documentation produced, maintaining oversight of and ensuring adherence to timescales and reporting activity.
2. In addition to line management, you will also take responsibility for direct RFI response
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
· Support Business Development in the winning of new business for ICON
· Manage a team of Business Information Associates
· Deliver high quality client-focused responses to Requests for Information (RFI) for new business and partnership opportunities within given timeframe according to the defined RFI process
· Evaluate and understand client requirements for incoming RFIs and assign them to appropriate Business Information Associates within specified timeframes
· Manage and oversee the preparation, review and submission of RFIs for new business opportunities within given timeframe
· Manage and lead Business Information Associates throughout the RFI generation process including attending the RFI kick off, strategy and other opportunity specific meetings as required
· Provide oversight and input on strategic and preferred provider opportunities, as needed.
· Ensure that the appropriate personnel including Senior Management, Operations and Sales are involved as required throughout the RFI generation process
· Consistently meet RFI submission timelines and adhere to Business Development SOPs and Working Procedures
· Ensure Senior Management are apprised of the status of proposal preparation and elevate any issues or concerns
· Recruit, train and mentor Business Information Associates as appropriate and as designated by the Senior Manager, Business Information. Develop a training plan for each Business Information Associate as required
· Ensure quality, accuracy and consistency of ICON information used for business development and marketing purposes.
· Liaise with ICON department heads to update service capabilities on a regular basis.
· Assist with maintenance of content library including obtaining updates from Operations Managers to assure database is current.
· Proactively assist sales team with innovative material to assist in the pre-RFP selling process.
· Evaluate Business Information Associates for ongoing performance reviews.
· Assist the Senior Manager, Business Information to develop and improve training and educational materials for Business Information Associates and other departments
· Provide back-up to the Senior Manager, Business Information as required
· Contribute to the development of processes and tools to improve the accuracy and quality of RFIs
· Assist with continuous departmental process improvements and participate in special projects periodically assigned, in addition to day-to-day duties
· Review of RFI responses to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy before being sent to the client.

What you will need:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent
· Prior experience in pharmaceutical / CRO industry or equivalent
· Prior staff management experience is highly desirable
· Prior experience in Proposal or RFI response development or outsourcing
· Demonstrable experience in producing high quality and detailed written documents.
· A commercial aptitude, with the ability to understand what sponsors (clients) use to make buying decisions and include these in a written format within our RFI documentation.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills with an ability to plan, multi task and prioritize
· Must be a self-starter, pro-active and professional with an ability to function in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
· Must be able to work independently, be highly motivated and a strong team player
· The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
· Effective decision making and problem-solving skills with a sound ability to exercise good judgment under pressure and be resourceful when dealing with challenging situations
· Ability to collaborate effectively between multiple internal stakeholders including subject matter experts and Business Development to ensure consistent, clear, compelling and fact-based responses to RFIs.
· Ability to evaluate RFIs and identify critical issues and questions
· Fluency in English and excellent written English skills are essential
· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
· Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel.
