· ICON is looking for a Director, Medical Affairs to
· Provide functional oversight in the absence of Medical Monitor staff
Represent the MA team in business development activities
Support Medical Monitors and MA team members with provision of deliverables to sites/sponsors
Facilitate close collaboration between the MA group and other internal ICON functional groups,as well as with sponsor medical teams
Job Functions/Responsibilities

· Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international, if required
· Oversee daily aspects of Medical Affairs operations, including work distribution, resource management, participation in internal and external audits, and supervision and mentoring of Medical Affairs operational staff
· Provide line management to MA Managers, MA Specialists, MA Administrative Assistants and/or Clinical Research Physicians and Medical Directors in Medical Data Review Unit
· Assist Medical Monitor team with business development proposals, including costings for MA services, and client presentations as needed
· Collaborate with MA Leadership Team to develop and implement training plan for new and existing MA team members, and ensure staff training needs are met and documented appropriately
· Oversee periodic review of Medical Affairs SOPs/WPs and implement changes as required
· Support collaborative relationships between MA staff, study sites and internal ICON teams in support of contracted projects
· Assist VP, Medical Affairs in ensuring departmental revenue and margin targets are met
· Assist Lead Global MMs with financial oversight of projects assigned to them
· EEnsure periodic project review meetings are conducted and documented, and assist as necessary with addressing action items
· Represent MA at internal and external audits. Ensure audit preparedness for MA staff
Supervision
· Provide direct line management to MA Managers, MA Specialists, MA Administrative Assistants and/or CRPs and Medical Directors in Medical Data Review Unit ( MRU)
· Set clear goals and objectives for reporting staff
· Act as mentor to Medical Affairs Specialists, Managers, Administrative Assistants and/or MRU Physicians
· Develop reporting staff skills, encourage growth and provide regular performance feedback
· Oversee process development within MA team
