Are you an experienced Commercial Analyst that knows how to negotiate terms, drive pricing decisions for specific projects, and secure new business awards? Learn how you can play a key role in the Commercial Affairs (CA) group which drives the economic and financial decision-making and analysis necessary to develop proposals, mount bid defenses, close deals, and manage reports and support ICON customers.
The role of Manager, Commercial Affairs, manages a portfolio of work within the CA function within ICON Commercial and reports into the Senior Director, Commercial Affairs and Business Partners (CA/CBP). The CA team has a central role in supporting Business Development to negotiate and secure new business awards on commercial terms that ensure appropriate margins are achieved and is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of ICON billing rates and Sponsor MSA rates.
The Manager will oversee a global team, and will have heavy interaction with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Executive Vice President, Business Development, and other members of senior management on a day to day basis on specific deals, and to ensure that rates are driving the desired commercial objectives.
About the Finance Manager, Commercial Rates & Pricing role within ICON:
The Finance Manager will manage commercial and financial negotiations during the bid defense process, manage, calculate and maintain ICON billing rates and Sponsor rate cards, and develop commercial offerings, including discounting structure, payment terms, incentives and other client requests.
Partner externally with Client Finance and Outsourcing counterparts, and internal with Business Development, Proposals, Operations, Finance, Legal and Contracts, develop and negotiate MSA Commercial Terms, as needed, with Legal and Contracts, and prepare ad-hoc financial and business case analyses

To succeed you will need:
You will need a Bachelor’s Degree along with a minimum of 8+ years of experience with progressive increases in responsibility in finance and/or business consulting. Proven experience in client negotiation specifically around rates and commercial terms and understanding of key aspects of clinical research, including program design, program management, metrics, unit tracker derivation, pricing, and project budget management/profit measurement. Proficient and broad financial capabilities around program or project budgeting, profit measurement, sensitivity analysis, revenue recognition for clinical research, and client reporting. Proven ability to interact with senior customer executives; capability to think strategically, solve problems, understand customer needs and develop solutions and presentations to resolve them. Demonstrated ability to attract, mentor and train talented commercial and financial staff.
