ICON plc, a leading Contract Research Organisation, employing approximately 13,500 employees across 97 offices in 38 countries, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Financial Analyst II to join the Finance Team at its Chennai Finance Hub.  

The Role:

As Financial Analyst II, you will support the Dublin team in partnering and providing financial analysis and guidance to a range of budget owners within ICON’s Global Business Service line.  Working with these internal stakeholders, you will use your strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge to develop a deep understanding of multiple departmental cost drivers & variables in order to provide support in identifying and delivering on cost saving initiatives.

Responsibilities: 

Support Dublin team in a range of activities including:

• Preparation of monthly financial forecasts and variance analysis
• Build strong working relationships with the team and budget owners as required
• Collaborate with the wider finance function in the pre-close review to ensure the accuracy of reporting through information sharing
• Preparation of monthly reporting packages with insightful commentary and analysis
• Support and own aspects of the preparation of the annual budget for GBS functions

·         Demonstrate an ability to develop and implement ideas that improve efficiencies

·         Analysing, interpreting & automating sizeable/complex data sets.

·         Ad-hoc analysis as required

What you need:

• Qualified or Part Qualified with a desire to continue their financial education (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant financial education).
• Analytically minded with inquisitive nature, seeks out problem solving opportunities.
• Prior relevant experience in financial analysis is preferred, but not required.
• Solid working knowledge of MS office package, in particular Excel and Power Point.
• Strong, effective interpersonal skills (verbal and written) to communicate with colleagues and cross-cultural teams.
• Eagerness to learn and develop as an ICON employee and member of the Clinical Research Industry.
