The Lead Consultant will manage projects and is expected to provide expertise relating to the critical review of relevant literature to inform model conceptualisation, design and parameterisation. They will also contribute to the programming of dynamic infectious disease models and associated cost effectiveness analyses and to the reporting and interpretation of findings.
At ICON we pride ourselves on advancing the science/consultancy interface; we have a strong reputation and publication record for observational, interventional, and modelling studies in a wide variety of clinical areas and where appropriate we seek to increase the credibility of our work through peer-reviewed publication.
Role requirements:
MSc or PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology, or a related field
Technical knowledge of dynamic transmission modelling and economic modelling, and the ability to provide support and mentoring to junior team members
The ability to design conceptual model frameworks, program dynamic transmission models in C++ and R, link these to economic analyses in Excel and to collect and interpret available data, such as sentinel surveillance data, to inform model designs and calibration
The ability to prepare study protocols and reports
Strong project management skills and the ability to serve as the main point of contact for clients
Ability to manage complex projects
Ability to lead a project team
Excellent organizational skills including strong oral and written English communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task efficiently
Additional valuable skills would include:
