This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and hardworking legal counsel to join ICON's highly professional and experienced in-house legal department to support the negotiation and execution of contracts on a global basis.

Based in our global HQ, this is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Ireland's largest legal teams in a position where you can make an impact globally and support ICON's mission to help its clients to accelerate the development of drugs and medical devices that save patient lives and improve their quality of life.

The Role

The successful applicant will be part of a global legal team that supports the negotiation of clinical trial contracts for ICON's Accellacare business unit.

• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts on Accellacare's behalf such as confidentiality agreements, clinical service agreements, ancillary service agreements and consultancy agreements.
• Manage client relationships with client legal teams.
• Maintain and revise standard contract template library for Accellacare.
• Create and apply fall-back to Accellacare standard contract templates for the negotiation of contracts.
• Support the management of contract disputes and investigations which arise from time to time.
• Act as a trusted legal advisor to senior management within Accellacare business line.
• Maintain and update standard process documents for contract negotiation.
• Provide training to staff on key aspects of ICON's commercial contracts.
• Advise non-legal staff on contract language and negotiations, requests outside of established negotiation parameters, and all other pertinent information toward the execution of contract-related documents for a given project.

What you need

• LLB or equivalent law degree.
• 2 - 4 years PQE
• Commercial contract negotiation and drafting experience working in-house or for a law firm preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Large law firm or corporate plc or pharmaceutical/CRO/biotech industry experience, a plus.
• Ability to manage a high volume of work
• Ambition to progress to management role within ICON legal team over time.
• Solutions focused with a strong work ethic.
• Possess strong negotiation, diplomacy and excellent organizational ability.
• Great teammate and relationship builder with strong intrapersonal, communication, organization and time management skills.
