As the Manager, Project Management you are responsible for the overall direction and management of projects through designated project managers, ensuring consistency with corporate strategy, consistency of process across projects and internal and external customer satisfaction with the projects.

The role

  • Directs and provides day-to-day technical oversight to the Project Management function.
  • Provides vision, leadership and mentorship to the department and organization.
  • Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all regionally assigned programs/projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the contract, agreed scope of work and in adherence with ICON SOPs, ICH GCP and appropriate regulations, while liaising with other department managers as necessary to achieve this.
  • Manage a portfolio consisting of high complexity/high-profile, global, full-service, multi-center projects and the overall process of planning, scheduling and controlling the project from initiation to project closeout to ensure timely completion of the project in a manner that is consistent with the Project/Program Management role. This includes key elements of the following :

  • Lead or participate in initiatives related to the development or implementation of cross functional and departmental continuous improvement initiatives as it relates to standards, training and quality and maintain integrated processes within Project Management.
  • Effectively apply IDS PM methodology, enforce project standards as it relates to functional service area and implement strategies to minimize cost and duration of projects by utilizing effective project management techniques.
  • Provide independent monitoring and reporting of progress to plan, cross-functional process optimization methods, effective communication of project information and problem-solving facilitation to resolve project issues
  • Build and maintain the performance and effectiveness of project management and the project teams, including regular checks on team health and identification and resolution (including escalation to the appropriate level) of team performance issues
  • Facilitate strategic planning and risk assessment, by managing the development and delivery of appropriate contingency activities in the context of the budget, time, resources and value targets and in accordance with SOPs
  • Establish and maintain a "sense of urgency" within areas of responsibility to assure rapid, in-depth evaluation and, where appropriate, development of internal and external opportunities while not sacrificing scientific excellence, quality/compliance or agreed upon timelines .
  • Maintain confidentiality of management information as appropriate.

What you need

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or local equivalent
  • 5-10 years' experience in Market Access /pricing/reimbursement
  • Demonstrated success working cross functionally with critical deliverables and tight timelines
  • Proven leader/Project Management experience
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills; communicates effectively with others at all levels within the organization and with clients/vendors.
  • Ability to multi-task, support various projects
