Medical Technician I

Location: Dublin

ICON plc, a leading Contract Research Organisation, employing approximately 14,000 employees across 97 offices in 38 countries, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Medical Technician I to join its Laboratory at its Leopardstown Global HQ.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a degree within the life sciences field to join a top 5 global CRO.

The Role

As Medical Technician I you will ensure that our central Lab is meeting the highest quality standards. Working with the team, you will perform general technical assignments and testing in the lab in accordance with current procedures and quality standards.

The Role:

Responsible for the quality and timelines of technical procedures ensuring compliance with applicable company, CAP and local regulatory agency testing requirements.
Perform technical assignments, testing and issue reports in accordance with procedure.
Adhering to internal and external quality control procedures in order to ensure the quality of the results and maintain corrective action logs as appropriate.
Consults with lab management staff prior to reporting grossly abnormal results.
Responsible for the preparation quality control documentation, instrument and equipment maintenance documentation, performance of proficiency testing and compliance with all appropriate regulatory procedures.
Responsible for storing reagents are maintained, prepared, stored and used in a manner suitable for testing and documentation is kept to ensure adequate records are available.
Testing lab equipment.
Maintaining all paperwork and ensuring all records and documentation is kept up to date.
Ad-hoc duties as required.

About you:

You will have a Degree / Masters in a Life Sciences subject.
Experience working as a Technician or similar lab based role.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Team player with a willingness to learn.
Excellent attention to detail with excellent written communication skills.
Understands the basic principles of quality control, quality assurance and quality audits and outcomes.
