About the Medical Technologist role within ICON: 

The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing technical assignments and testing in the general laboratory department, entering and releasing required information in the Laboratory Information System, such as test results, comments, and quality control results.  Will consult with laboratory supervisory staff prior to reporting grossly abnormal results and when out of control test run is encountered.

The Medical Technologist will ensure that reagents are maintained, prepared, stored and used in a manner suitable for testing and documentation is kept to ensure adequate records are available in test area.  Performs the maintenance, calibration and validation of the instruments/assays assigned to the section according to written laboratory procedures.  Responsible for maintaining all paperwork and ensuring all records are kept up to date and stored safely as per standard operating procedures

To succeed you will need:

You will have a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience and hold a BS in Medical Technology or Science related field.  You must possess a New York State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

Hematology experience is required
