Manager, Statistical Programming
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.
The Manager of Statistical Programming will effectively manage and coordinate the statistical programming activities of his/her jurisdiction within the Statistical Programming group to ensure department, program and study level goals and objectives are consistently met to the highest standard of quality. The Manager, Statistical Programming will invest in building long-term relationships with clients through effective communication, project management and risk management strategies and provide technical and managerial leadership, including mentorship and training of direct reports.
 
 
Overview of the Role

  • As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting clients needs
  • Collaborate with Biostatistics/Programming management team to review and assess existing SOPs/WPs and provide input into the revision process, as appropriate.
  • Record all billable and non-billable time accurately into the appropriate time management system. Review/approve time sheets for assigned staff on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Identify and organize training needs of staff in coordination with ICON’s CTD, as appropriate.
  • Manage assigned programming team deliverables to ensure project objectives are met within budget, to agreed timelines and to the highest standard of quality.
  • Develop and foster client relationships through the implementation of effective communication, project management and solution-based approaches for assigned programming teams.
  • Support Business Development activities, including timely input into R Proactively participate in the review of programming standards, processes and procedures to enhance team performance and compliance with industry standards. FPs/RFIs and participation in sponsor calls and meetings, as ap Represent the Statistical Programming group in internal/external audits and manage findings through resolution both operationally and within the Quality Management System.
  • Liaise effectively with other managers in the Statistical Programming group to improve the effectiveness of the organization.
  • Demonstrate a constructive and flexible approach in managing project delivery, including problem solving, handling changing priorities and meeting study timelines.
  • Proactively participate and contribute towards department goals, including sharing of technical knowledge and expertise, current literature reviews and process improvement initiatives.
  • Preparation and delivery of presentations and attendance at appropriate scientific meetings and conferences. 
  • Provide mentoring and training of staff ensuring that all necessary training is provided according to job title.
  • Continually develop staff to reach their potential through evaluation and monitoring of their development plan.
  • Effectively lead and line manage staff through open and timely sharing of information, regular performance review and feedback, and setting of clear goals and objectives. Ensure individual and team achievements are appropriately recognized.
 
Role Requirements
  • 8 years relevant experience with a bachelors degree
  • Extensive knowledge in SAS
  • Extensive knowledge of basic statistical concepts
  • Thorough knowledge of data structures (CDISC SDTM, ADaM), software development cycle
  • Ability to critically review data and implement corrective action steps effectively.
  • Successfully performing the role of a Statistical Programmer with prior experience in a Team Lead or Supervisory role, preferably within the clinical research industry.
