Proj Manager, Data Management

The Role:

• Manage DCT projects or projects with DCT components in a timely manner in adherence with ICON SOPs, SSPs and appropriate regulations and liaise with other departments and project managers as necessary to coordinate successful implementation of contracted DCT services
• Oversee the day-to-day activities and task management of the project team to ensure implementation of DCT components of the study with a focus on quality, budget and timelines on each project is reached and maintained
• Support the business development activities by providing the right input on DCT solutions and present the DCT approaches at client meetings
• Ensure the necessary training is provided to staff to improve their job performance and knowledge
• Maintain documentation of training as appropriate
• Provide ongoing risk management assessment and mitigation strategies to successful deployment of contracted DCT components
• Prepare and manage the overall DCT project budget throughout the life cycle of the project, taking overall responsibility for cost control, timelines and DCT project quality
• Continually review the DCT project contract in order to ensure that any out of scope work is managed promptly and efficiently
• Negotiate with clients and/or external customers/departments in relations to timelines and key deliverables typically responsible for handling multiple DCTs running concurrently
• Keep senior management informed of DCT project status in relation to quality and timelines
• Maintain and Develop DCT Processes
• Support assessment and implementation of new DCT technologies as appropriate
• Act as a point person for DCT expertise for assigned projects
• Contribute to change initiatives within the DCT department and across the larger organization
• Assist with mentoring new DCT PM as appropriate

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in medicine, science or equivalent degree are desirable
• Demonstrable Project Management experience within clinical research arena (e.g. DCT PM, Clinical PM, Data Management PM, or eCOA PM, etc.) is essential
• Good vendor management skills
• Strong communication, planning, decision-making, negotiation, conflict management and time management skills
• Ability to work with ambiguity
• Understanding of DCT elements and technologies
• Excellent understanding of clinical trial start-up processes
• Willingness to travel up as needed (<25%)
