Location Position: Fort Detrick, Frederick MD
We are Seeking an experienced Human Subject Protection Scientist III-Human Research and Cadaver Use Compliance Oversight to support the US Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) by ensuring compliance with human subjects protection and cadaver use regulations.
What you will be doing:
- Protocol Review & Compliance – Review research submissions, ensuring compliance with Federal, DoD, DA, state, host nation, and USAMRDC regulations. Identify issues and provide recommendations.
- Compliance Oversight – Support staff visits to monitor adherence to regulations and recommend improvements.
- Policy & Procedure Development – Assist in updating policies and guidelines. Educate investigators and research staff on regulatory requirements.
- Education & Training – Update training materials and ensure programs reflect current regulations.
- Quality Assurance – Maintain protocol files, tracking systems, and automated information management systems.
- Performance Improvement – Help streamline protocol review and approval processes. Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
- 5+ years of experience in human research protection, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance.
- Expertise in Federal, DoD, DA, and USAMRDC human research and cadaver use regulations, including the Common Rule and HIPAA.
- Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified IRB Manager (CIM) preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and integrate diverse feedback.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to work independently.
