We are currently seeking a Senior Pharmacovigilance Associate to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Senior Pharmacovigilance Associate at ICON, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the medical aspects of pharmacovigilance activities, ensuring the safety of investigational drugs and contributing to the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies.

This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive medical review of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs), ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of global regulatory reports, and for collaborating cross functionally and providing technical leadership within Case Management and across Global Patient Safety (GPS).

What you will be doing

• Provide medical review and assessment of adverse event reports from clinical trials and post-marketing sources.

• Conduct comprehensive ICSR medical reviews across all therapeutic areas, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to regulatory timelines

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk management strategies and risk minimization measures.

• Contribute to the preparation of safety-related documents, including periodic safety reports and risk management plans.

• Stay abreast of emerging safety concerns and medical literature to inform decision-making and enhance safety surveillance activities.

Your profile

• Advanced medical related graduate degree, such as: DVM, PharmD, PhD, MSN with advanced clinical specialty (Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner) with 1-3 years’ experience in related scientific field, e.g. pharmacology, physiology, microbiology or scientifically related field. OR:

• BS degree in health-related or scientific field with 7-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, directly related clinical trial experience or experience in areas relevant to drug discovery or development, e.g. epidemiology, toxicology, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs. OR:

• 3-5 years of clinical experience, or 2-5 years of pharmaceutical experience, at least 2 years of which was clinical development experience.

• Clinical development or pharmacovigilance experience preferred.

• Knowledge of drug development process.

• Fluent in English with highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong clinical/diagnostic skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work on multiple projects and function effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and shift priorities rapidly to meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to influence others (both cross-functionally and within the function) in order to create a positive working environment
