Senior Principal Epidemiology

Location: London or Abingdon with some flexibility

The epidemiology team works on a range of disease areas and study designs. We undertake studies to characterize treatment patterns, disease natural history, burden of illness, disease transmission, relative efficacy, real-world effectiveness and safety, and benefit-risk.  We use a variety of study designs to obtain these estimates, including prospective and retrospective data collection; analysis of clinical and administrative databases; and systematic literature review. 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Principal to lead our Epidemiology practice in UK.

Key responsibilities

• Provides leadership and strategic vision in the definition, implementation, and management of real world evidence (RWE) strategy and epidemiology consulting services. 
• Responsible for developing both practice-specific and integrated business strategy and direction. 
• In all cases the Sr Principal will lead or co-lead a consulting centre or specific business effort, with joint and individual responsibility for its success. May be head of consulting in region. 
• Responsibility for assigned clients and employees within the relevant practice, and driving cooperation across practices and ICON. May have senior managerial responsibility for a defined consulting centre, or joint responsibility for consulting centre and practice performance. 
• Leadership of multiple projects and client relationships, responsible for overall quality of team’s execution. 
• Responsible for contributing to and meeting defined sales, revenue, and margin targets for consulting centre and practice, proactively developing new business and client relationships. Provides project oversight and acts as point of resolution on projects and resourcing issues. Broad involvement in staff management, mentoring and organizational development. 
• The Senior Principal has fiscal responsibility to manage human resources and related costs while ensuring capacity for project sales and delivery.
• Direct client contact, trusted partner to create business opportunities and deliver differentiated, high-value RWE and epidemiology services. 
• Recognized by clients as a positive differentiator for the business. 
• Able to generate follow-on business and manage key accounts, and to prospect new opportunities and accounts. 
• Drives contribution to thought leadership, staff management, firm building.

Role Requirements  

• A Master’s degree or PhD in health economics, epidemiology, or another related discipline.  
• Experience of working in consultancy, industry and academia, preference will be given to those having consulting experience.
