Senior Scientific Manager

We are currently seeking a Scientific Director (SD) to join our team. Experienced candidates may telecommute full-time, if desired.

As an SD you will provide senior level medical/clinical content review support as part of a dedicated team servicing a particular pharmaceutical client or clients. You will foster strong relationships with clients and thought leaders in the therapeutic area(s) of interest, and lead a team of Associate Scientific Directors, Sr Medical Writers and Medical Writers to mentor them and help develop their career objectives. The SD works closely with other Editorial and Client Services team members to meet client expectations, budgets and timelines. Travel to professional meetings, client locations, and other project-related travel may be required.

To Succeed You Will Need:

You must have an advanced science degree (PharmD, PhD or MD) and 5 years or more of medical communications agency experience or a combination of pharmaceutical industry experience plus 3 years or more of medical communications agency experience to be considered for this role. Successful candidates will also possess:

• Excellent demonstrable understanding of ICMJE and GPP guidelines and regulations
• Capability of ensuring overall client satisfaction and ensuring the quality of all editorial work delivered to your clients by ICON Global Medical Communications
• Subject matter expertise for the therapeutic area(s) and specific product information pertinent to your clients
• Gracious and proactive ability to interact with clients; excellent verbal and written communications and telephone skills required
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to meet or beat deadlines regularly
• Leadership skills to enhance career development objectives for your team members/direct reports
• Command of the English language (written and verbal)

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency with various computer software programs relevant to medical communications agencies.
